Birmingham boasts several world class football teams, with two currently enjoying Premier League status – West Bromwich Albion and Aston Villa. Consequently a lot of people visit the city for the match and decide to stay on for the Weekend. England is filled with beautiful religious architecture, and Birmingham doesn’t disappoint in this regard. Blakesley Hall and St Chad’s Cathedral also offer great sights for the more architecturally inclined traveler.

Birmingham is known for its high quality shopping centre. There is something for everyone at the Bullring, a nationally renowned mall that caters for all budgets and styles. The centre of town also offers  a plethora of eateries for foodies visiting the city.

Birmingham is one of those cities that make taking a quick pass through extremely difficult, as it has so much to offer. You could easily spend a week in the city and still only have seen half or less of what it has to offer. Thus, it is important that you plan out what it is you want to see before you stop off in Birmingham. It will allow you to get to the things you want, and see a historic piece of the industrial revolution. It may even give you the perfect reason to come back again later on.
